Murray Sperber’s Claim That Robert Knight Violated

The Indiana University Code of Conduct is Rejected

Murray Sperber (Jewish) suggested in a September 12, 2000 article that Robert Knight “apparently” violated the Indiana University “code of conduct” by “apparently” grabbing Mark Shaw’s stepson by the elbow and cursing at him.

Despite Sperber’s suggestion of a “code of conduct” violation, the episode never rose to a proven “code of conduct” violation against Knight and isn’t considered to be a “code of conduct” violation for the purposes of this analysis.

(The “elbow grabbing” episode and Mark Shaw are discussed more fully later in the article to which this footnote applies.)
